Make sure to Preview your email before you send it and check if the First Name and Last Name tags work.

Copy the code that was generated when you added personalization to your email body as demonstrated above.
You can directly copy and insert this text to your Subject or Preview line to catch the attention of your subscribers - {{ first_name|default:'Friend' }} or {{ last_name|default:'Friend' }}
Don't forget to frame your Subject or Preview line correctly so that the use of the First or Last Name is justified and in case the name is not available, the default text fills in the sentence appropriately. For example, Hey {{ first_name|default:'Friend' }}, did you forget this in your cart?
